Hey everyone,
I'm having trouble playing some games on my iPhone due to country restrictions, and I was wondering if anyone knows a reliable way to fake my location. I'm aware of VPNs, but they don't seem to work with some apps. I heard it is possible to fake location on iPhone from a Windows PC. However, I could not confirm it myself. That's why I am asking help in here!
Is there a specific tool or method that works well on iPhone without jailbreaking? I'd really appreciate any help or guidance on this!

For those familiar with development tools, you can use Xcode (Apple’s development environment) to simulate different locations. You will need a Mac and some basic coding skills to run a project on your iPhone and specify a custom location for the GPS. This is one of the best ways to fake location on iPhone without third-party apps.

Apps may block access from certain countries on an iPhone for several reasons:
Licensing and Distribution Restrictions: App developers often have licensing agreements that limit where their content or services can be offered. For example, streaming apps might only have the right to show certain movies, music, or TV shows in specific regions due to legal agreements with content providers.
Local Laws and Compliance: Some apps need to comply with the local laws of a country, especially when it comes to data privacy, financial transactions, or gambling. If the app doesn’t meet these requirements, it may be restricted from operating in that country.
For above reason, you need to fake iPhone location occasionally to bypass the country restrictions for certain apps or games.

Using a VPN to fake your location on an iPhone from a Windows 11 PC sounds clever. But you might hit some app compatibility issues. Not every app plays nice with VPNs, especially those that need GPS location too. So, while you can easily change your IP address, some apps can still sniff out your real location through your GPS. This could lead to errors or even getting locked out of accounts if they think you're up to no good.
VPNs can slow down your internet connection depending on how far the server is located and how many people are using it. Let's be real—nobody wants to deal with buffering or lag when you're trying to game or stream.

I have tried to use Xcode to fake Location on iPhone before. Although the whole process is a bit technical, it really does not require jailbreaking and is quite safe. First, you need to have a Mac, install Xcode (just download it from the App Store), then connect the iPhone and open Xcode.
The general steps are: first create a new project in Xcode, give it any name, you don’t need to really develop anything. After the project is created, click "Devices" in the upper right corner of the window, find your connected iPhone, and then you will see an option to "Simulate Location". You can select a location on the map and apply it to your iPhone, and the game will think you are there.
I think this method is good because you don’t have to worry about the security of third-party tools at all, but it’s a little troublesome. When playing games, you can bypass those regional restrictions after changing the location, which is pretty cool!

Actually, using the built-in developer options in iOS to fake GPS location on iPhone is also a way, but it is not so common. You need to enable "Developer Mode" first, which can be turned on by connecting the iPhone to Xcode on a Mac or PC (a bit like the method mentioned above).
Once enabled, you can debug some functions through the settings in the developer options, including simulated locations. But to be honest, this method is a bit convoluted and requires familiarity with the various settings in the developer options. Although it is not common, it does come in handy sometimes, especially if you just want to temporarily change the location.
But in short, it does not require jailbreaking, is safe, but a little more complicated.

If you want to fake a GPS location on iPhone, this method is actually quite clever. Simply put, it is to use the Family Sharing feature. You can find a friend or family member who lives in your target country and ask them to add you to their Apple Family Sharing. In this way, your Apple ID is equivalent to "hanging" in their region.
Once you join Family Sharing, you can access the content in their App Store area, including those games that you can't download locally. The whole process does not require you to jailbreak or modify the location. It is an official Apple function and very safe. The disadvantage is that you have to find a reliable person who is willing to share an account with you!
