After I upgraded to Windows 11, the folder windows.old was there and I did not need it because the 10 days deadline to go back to windows 10 has already passed. In order to delete you need to use Disk Cleanup Tool from Microsoft and of course it is free.
In order to help the users not to install some crappy software out there to do this simple tasks such as disk cleanup, I have done a video which will help you to clean up your disk and to delete the folder windows.old safely.
