Always keep on this device - Missing

Copper Contributor

OneDrive right click 'Always keep on this device' option is missing from my files options in Windows 11 (OS Build 22000.176). How can I get that back again?

@youie sorry to hear that.

I have noticed since earlier that the right click menu has begun to change to show those things I regularly use. I was just fortunate I guess.

It shows up for me if I turn the Navigation pane on in File Explorer and right-click the folder in the nav pane.
Thanks Gregg for the tip. It works perfectly for me

@Gregg Revak - it does work that way, but that's basically it, and the fact that Microsoft hasn't acknowledged this is concerning.

This fixed the issue for me just as OP described. All is normal operation again. @GordonHB

Yes! As of the latest update, this is fixed. Thanks, Microsoft.

It's still an issue for the Personal Vault folders. I see "Always keep on this device" for files but not for folders.

Hi all,

I had the same issue and fixed it by following these procedure:

1. follow steps to remove shortcut

2.  resync.

Solution

@LalithaPutra I can confirm this is no longer an issue. It was resolved a few Windows 11 versions ago. 🙂

Agreed, has been working for me for quite a while now.
