Windows crashes when updating Windows Build ?

Brass Contributor

When attempting to upgrade Windows to build 2020, whether though Windows update or Microsoft Windows update assistant. Roughly half way though the update, windows crashes causing this error hoping that I'm posting the correct error from the event log.

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Could anyone please tell me as how to fix this or stop this from occurring as I've tried numerous times with no success ?

Check Windows Update and see if there is any pending updates?

Are you seeing any Blue Screen message?

Try restart your PC and run it again.

If problem persist, open start and search for feedback and open Feedback Hub app and report this issue.

All the pending updates are up to date, I can go ahead and do the 2020 build update but as I mentioned, roughly halfway into the update there is a BSOD and the computer restarts. This doesn't happen occasionally; rather always ?

Feedback Hub reply will take to long to have this resolved.
