Windows 10 version 1803

Copper Contributor

Hi,

What is required (registry edit etc.) so that Windows 10 version 1803 clients can join a single label domain? Same new model of ThinkPad laptops, Windows 10 version 1709 systems can join single label domains without issue. All Windows version 1803 laptops are unable to join a single label domain. (can't find domain xxx)

Thanks

I had similar issues and found an old reference https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/300684/deployment-and-operation-of-active-directory-domains...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters

Add DWORD AllowSingleLabelDnsDomain = 1

This resolved issue.

This resolved for us as well. Thank you very much!

This (unfortunately) did not solve my issue.  I haven't seen anything else as far as updates or fixes to this yet however.  Does anyone else know if Microsoft has corrected this yet?

This has worked for me.

Microsoft does not recommend single label domains, but mine has been like this a long time and don't want to change.

Thanks for discussing this topic. I have been tried to set up and install window 10 but I got error message pop up and I was unable to fix that issues. and it quite frustrating. then I decided to take assistance from
Microsoft Windows support team and I took. they assisted me nicely in a short period of time. So, anybody facing any issues related to a window then they can go through the same.
