Windows 10 Deployment Ring: how to know where we are

Copper Contributor

Hi guys,

I'm approaching an inplace upgrade through Windows Update of my client environment in my small business to the latest version (1703).

Nothing is managed by GPO or Management Tools, only 15 client all in the default branch (Current Branch).

Until now, I've used 1703 iso file to take an inplace upgrade, because after the relase date (11th April) no computers have yet received feature update through Windows Update.

I've searched a lot on the web without success, so now I'm posting here this question:

- It's possible to know what my client's Microsoft Deployment Ring is?

- If yes, how? How can I know when I'll receive Feature Updates throug WU?

Thanks in advance,

Andrea

AFAIK there is no way to know when you will get Creators' Update, because WU won't offer you the upgrade until all the relevant shortcomings on your PC have been fixed.

For the same reason, it's not a good idea to "force" manually the upgrade on production PCs.

See for example http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/microsofts-change-heart-creators-update-queue-jumping.htm

Just my two cents...
