Unable to sign in to (microsoft) account after update

Copper Contributor

Hi all experts.

On 12-02-2020 my Windows 10 Pro (N) [Dutch]was updated according to scedule.

After the update, when my machine came back after the usual restart, I could no longer log in to my personal (microsoft) profile.

All I could do was entering a temporay profile, on which nothng I did would be saved.

I turned on the regular Administrator account, but could not do much ore.

I have quite a few settings and apps running on this account so I am more or less at a loss.

Any suggestions how to solve this are welcome.

I also would like to find out what really happened.

Hi,
are you using Windows 10 1909?
when you say you couldn't log in to your personal Microsoft profile, you're referring to Windows profile or Microsoft profile in a browser?

@HotCakeX

Yes I was running the 1909 version on Windows 10 Pro (N).

The personal profile is the Windows 10 profile.

The tips I read on the internet about creating a new profile (in safe mode)

and copy the opriginal file to thius profile did not work.

So I guess I have to restore a backup from september 2019

Or you could try resetting your PC which keeps your personal data. you can do it from recovery mode as well
Besmetting is not the best option, I prefer to restoren my september back-up, even if I have to reinstal the media update as mentioned elsewhere.
Tomorrow is another day
