Unable to connect to NAS through VPN since update

Copper Contributor

Hello,

My client who is running Windows 10 on a Surface Pro is recently being faced with the following message when trying to connect to the NAS via VPN:

"An error occured while reconnecting to H: to [Drive name] Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is already in use. The connection has not been restored."

The error started since installing the most recent Windows 10 updates. All other services that rely on the network such as accessing a shared app that lives on a computer via IP on a web browser seem to work fine on VPN except for connecting to the NAS through which is done through Windows Explorer under Computer. When connecting back to the local network where the NAS lives, it connects fine.

Any thoughts on this? Let me know if you need more information which I can get from my client.

Thanks,

Have you tried turning your NAS off and on after client update?
what type of NAS and VPN connection are you using?
