Latest Win 10 version

Copper Contributor

Hi everybody,

Since a couple of days, Windows announced me that I must change my version with the newest one. Today, I've sacrificed all day long my pc letting it install its new version and its updates (already!).

Since I resumed work, I cannot browse anymore my folders, or file explorer, nor may I open/save files in/from Word, Excel, etc. The file control remains empty for hours, as in this caption:

Hello @cmancas,

What is the version you've right now? Run winver command to find it.

Regards.

@Kapil Arya thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide you this info. Winver too displays an empty screen:

Hello @cmancas,

I recommend you to perform repair upgrade and see if that helps:

Solution

@Kapil Arya  thank you again!

Fortunately, I did not need to do any repair.

After restarting the system 3-4 times, it finally started to fix the hdd and, after some 2h, the system restarted normally. I guess that the final step of the latest update (cleaning up...) destroyed the file management indexing system.

Here is the winver screen now:

Thank you for your time!

Glad this is resolved, thanks @cmancas for the update!

@Kapil Arya my pleasure!

Have a fine weekend!

Christian
