Icon saying "Windows 10 will reach the end of service soon. Please click to update"

Copper Contributor

I keep getting Icon on Taskbar telling me that my windows 10 is reaching end of service. I follow all instructions to update but it always ends with "you are up to date". In View updates I have ten failed attempts  of either version 2004 or version 20H2 with error code: 0x800707e7. How do I update?

Hi,
you're most likely on an old version of Windows 10 that reached end of life.
you can use this page to update if Windows update is failing.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

I suggest to use the "Create Windows 10 installation media" in that page, make an ISO, then perform an in-place upgrade.

Hello @Colin_Woodcock,

I recommend you to upgrade to latest version i.e. Version 20H2 using the ISO file. You can directly upgrade to latest version from your existing version.

Refer this step-by-step guide:

Let us know if this helps!

Hi,

please use the "update now" button in this page

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

if it fails for any reason,

you can use the "Create Windows 10 installation media" option in the same page to create an ISO file and then run the setup to perform an in-place upgrade.

Hi Colin,

If your device has Conexant Audio drivers, a manual update may fail. In that case, remove those and then try manually.
Hello,
Can you make the setuperr.log file avavilable to download?

Please perform a clean install of Windows 10.
make a bootable DVD or Flash drive using the media creation tool:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

and then use it to clean install Windows 10.

I hope you haven't nuked your Installation yet. Can you please run this tool and post the results?
