I can not restart my computer

Hi,

When I was on my computer tonight, my computer was suddenly restarted. When it came back  and it keep saying it is cancelling the previous modification work and it never goes back to normal screen.

My documents are all stored in my hard drive in my computer. Please help.

Hi,
please try accessing the Windows Recovery Environment, restart your computer 3 times using reset button or power button (on laptops). after each restart wait few seconds, then you will be taken to the recovery Environment.

From there navigate to Troubleshoot, Advanced options, Startup Repair

you can also access Safe Mode from there.

Did you attempt to install Windows Update?

How long it has been in this condition?

Is it Desktop or Laptop?
