File Explorer freezing and Desktop freezing.

Copper Contributor

Hello, I'm having this problem on my computer with File Explorer and the Desktop in general. The problem is that whenever I right click on File Explorer or open an application, it just freezes. The problem on the Desktop is whenever I right click on a program, it also freezes. I've had this problem since last year but now I feel like I should report this issue.

Thank you everyone.

Your sincerely,

Safan.

Solution
Hello,

Suggest you to run System File Checker scan:

1. Search for 'command prompt' using Cortana or Windows Search.

2. From results, right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

3. Type sfc /scannow command and press Enter key.

4. Let the command complete and then reboot the machine.

If issue still persists, perform clean boot:

Thank you, it actually worked for me.
