I solved this issue by reinstalling Windows 10 using the media creation tool https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10

@FlorLopezR I´ve done this procedure right now, with the same ISO file of my build..everything went fine, and now DISM says that there are no corrupted components anymore. But this didn´t resolv problems with windows update and windows antivirus. I think that something wrong in the last update

Hello!

Great news! But I ask if you downloaded only the update for the system to the latest version from this site before?

Using the media installer is a lot of work!  Sometimes, downloading only the upgrade directly is sufficient.

I will try downloading the newest iso file  - Windows 10 pro x64 21H1 19043.928.  My previous upgrade with the 20H2 iso didn't work as my version of Windows is the same.

@Wingy10

I will wait for the 21H1 19043.928 iso file to be made available to non commercial users.  Am I correct to say KB5001331 (which won't install on my build 20H2) is actually the beta version of 21H1 19043.928 ?

I have the same pain as Jauhar. Had tried everything recommended in various forums. I did try running the update tool and when clicked Update Now it downloaded the 9252.exe which I double clicked. I got the message "Thank you for updating to the latest version of Windows 10". The only other option I had is to click Exit. I am using the latest Windows 10 Pro Build 19042 already. The update which installed successfully was KB4023057.

It has nothing to do with old hardware. The problem I am having is on my Skylake Core I3 PC with 24GB ram. I managed to update KB5021330 on my nearly 10 years old AMD Phenom II PC with only 8Gb of ram running Windows Home build 19042.
Hi if you have installed KB4023057. then you probably have installed KB5001391 most often install simultaneously because you use the same environment! Check the update history and at the very bottom will be : other update - expand and there will be visible!
It did resolve the windows update problem for me. What I did was downloading the media creation tool again from this site and instead of updating, I just installed Windows 10 again.
Yeah I did,. It is not, it was actually really fast. It took a lot of time installing windows again (more than 3 hours), but after reinstalling, I could install this latest updates and others that I hadn't been able to install for months.
From Update History I noticed that KB 4023057 was installed successfully on 6 March and 21 April 2021 - yes the same KB on both occasions. So I am puzzled why KB 5001330 and KB 5001391 won't install. The error message says I am missing certain files but don't say what files. I also downloaded them from Microsoft Catalog and tried installing them manually but after initiation the updates just won't install. Cleaning up the SoftwareDistribution folders and start again also won't help.
Did you do a clean install or just in place upgrade with the same build number ?
And what builds do you have currently with Windows?
Clean install. As if I was installing windows 10 for the first time. The tool started looking for updates and then it installed windows again. After that, I ran windows update again and was able to install this update.
Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2 Build 19042
I am thinking of doing a clean custom in place install so I don't have to re-activate but I will lose my Office 2016 apps. Previously, I tried upgrading using the same version of Windows media only to have all changes automatically uninstalled at the end. I understand version 21H1 is round the corner and i I hope to download the ISO file to create a installation media to upgrade.
This is a stable version that works well!
maybe better to wait for 21H1?

I also encountered with 0x800f0922 when installing KB5003173 (or may 2021 update) and last 3 cumulative updates!

In my case it was related to HTTP service. HTTP service wont start, it will show something like this:

C:/User/User>net start http
Error 2: System cannot find file specified.

I gone through CBS logs, and find this error log!

2021-05-12 11:13:55, Error [0x01803e] CSI 000006fc (F) Failed execution of queue item Installer: HTTP Installer ({86fee01a-954a-11df-bc0c-cea7dfd72085}) with HRESULT HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND). Failure will not be ignored: A rollback will be initiated after all the operations in the installer queue are completed; installer is reliable[gle=0x80004005]

Solution

[1] - Reinstall Edge if you have uninstalled it

Some user in reddit stated the reinstallation edge solved it, I use Edge as primary, therefore it doesnt solved for me!

     Reddit Comment

[2] - Restore HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP and HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\HTTP

It worked for me!! Immediately after restoration (restored from an old ISO I had), the HTTP service now starts fine, no more Error 2. tried to update again. voila! it install fine as before!

@Sabby_ Hi Dear ! Well after 3 back to back failed attempts Finally I got installed KB5003173 19042.985 without any issue. It went smooth and the PC is doing well now.....BUT BEFORE THAT

I had to install 3 fresh Installations on my laptop in order to get KB5000842 , KB5001330 and KB5001391.

Before KB5003173 my last build was 19042.964 and it helped me to get build 19042.985installed. I believe MS still have got issues with it's OS.

Now back to Edge. Edge 1st of all can't be uninstalled...No way. Yes it is possible to reset the application

Just make one more attempt and see how it goes but I see no help because I had to make dozen attempts and every times Installation west UNSUCCESSFUL.

Hello!

I want to congratulate you now you have the latest stable version plus the best Windows security.

I think your problems stemmed precisely from vulnerabilities and the inability to provide a common Windows environment, if it were correct there would be no problems, Thank you very much .

@A1-A1 Yes !!! Honestly KB5003173 ( build 19042.985 ) for Windows 10 version 20H2 is somewhat very smooth and reliable. I think KB5003173 should bring relief to most of the annoyed windows users.

Thanks everyone for participating in this discussion. Cheers Pals 🙂
