If I go in to Settings > Devices > Touchpad on a device with a "precision touchpad", there is a switch to turn the touchpad off. However, when I click on it, I get prompted to enter admin credentials. If I dismiss the credential prompt, all settings become disabled. Is this expected behavior?
I've got a Lenovo X1 Yoga 2nd Gen and a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 with the Type Keyboard that are both affected. Both are running Windows 10 1809 with the latest quality updates (KB4490481) and drivers.

Hi,
The same problem. Very annoying. Should not require admin rights.

I use a Lenovo T480s and sys admin has removed the administrative rights. I need to turn the touchpad on and off but unfortunately to do so I have to get administrative rights. Is there any way that a local or domain user on the computer without administrative rights can turn the touchpad on and off anytime?
the goal is for the user to continue without administrative rights and to turn the touchpad on and off
if you know of any alternatives share.
Thanks
