Viva Engage employee users - Admin control

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I am trying to find where I can control if users can make posts and share to community's. I need to be able to control just anyone in a large scale organization trying to make posts and sharing.

Each community allows anyone who can view the community to be able to post/share.

Within each community's settings you can define that only admins can post in that community, but it would need to set on each community.

Hi @StephanieLHadley

To control whether users can make posts and share to communities in Viva Engage, you can use the following admin controls:

  • Community settings: Each community has its own settings that control who can post and share. You can choose to allow everyone to post and share, or you can restrict it to admins only.
  • Admin roles: You can also use admin roles to control who can post and share in communities. Community admins and community moderators can both post and share in communities, but only community admins can create and manage communities.
  • Network settings: If you have a large organization, you may want to manage community permissions at the network level. This allows you to set permissions for all communities in your network, rather than having to set permissions for each community individually.

Here is a simple tip to understand which setting to use:

  • Community settings: Use this setting if you want to control who can post and share in a specific community.
  • Admin roles: Use this setting if you want to control who can post and share in all communities in your organization.
  • Network settings: Use this setting if you want to set permissions for all communities in your network.

I hope this is helpful!

Instead of settings for each community. I do not want employees to post their own status and be able to share it anywhere.
