Teams Live: Internal Event Group Chat

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I'm producing a Teams Live event with 7 presenters and wanted to know a solution for the internal event group chat. I use the internal chat to alert presenters of the run-of-show, etc.

The issue is when they're sent 'Live,' you can hear the ping of the internal chat echoing in the background. I searched for a solution (e.g. forums; YT) to this production concern and couldn't find one.

Here are my questions:
How do you silence or mute the internal event group chat?
What solution do you propose to mitigate the chat ping?
What are better ways to cue presenters w/o using chat?

Thanks!

They can go to the chat tab in teams and from there access the chat as well! By right clicking the chat - have them select “mute”
From the settings menu - notifications you can also set this for all meeting chats.
Another option is to have them set the computer sound to mute if they are using a headset! That way their speaker sounds won’t be heard.
