Unable to Delete imageres.dll.mun File
I recently deleted some content and inadvertently reverted my Windows 11 icons back to the Windows 10 ones. I had been using the Windows 11 icons for quite some time, so the change surprised me. After a Windows update, I found myself unable to delete a specific file because it required permission from TrustedInstaller.exe. While I believe I am the owner of TrustedInstaller, I am unsure why this permission issue has arisen. Previously, I could easily delete this file, but now I'm facing obstacles.150Views0likes0CommentsHow to Compare USB Flash Drive Folders for Duplicate Files
I have a USB flash drive filled with thousands of MP3 song files. Some are organized within an "Artist" folder, while others are scattered in a folder called "Random." I decided to revamp my music collection by creating a "Done" folder with organized artists and albums, such as Garth Brooks' albums with complete details like album art, genre, and release year. I am looking for an easier way to identify and remove duplicate files based on artist names or group names. Currently, I manually search for each artist in the "Random" folder to eliminate duplicates. Is there a more efficient method, perhaps a free program compatible with Windows 11, that can help streamline this process? I want to avoid having multiple copies of the same songs with incorrect file names but correct tags. If you have any suggestions or recommendations to simplify this task, please let me know. Thank you!153Views0likes0CommentsHow to prevent Amazon delivery information from showing up on the Windows 11 Pro sign-in screen?
I have been consistently receiving an Amazon delivery notification on the sign-in screen of my Windows 11 Pro for the past few days. The notification appears when I wake my computer from sleep mode, although it does not show up if I shut down the computer and then restart it. Despite manually disabling all notification settings and even attempting a registry edit, I am still encountering the persistent Amazon notification. My Windows version is 22H2 (OS build 22621.2715). How can I disable this notification?159Views0likes0CommentsCan I Use a Chromebook USB-C Laptop Charger with the XPS 15 9520 Laptop?
The primary laptop I use is the Dell XPS 15 9520, powered by a 130W Dell USB-C charger. I also own an Acer Chromebook with a USB-C charger, which is smaller in size, so it likely outputs either 45W or 65W. I made a mistake by connecting both chargers to a power strip and then inadvertently plugged the Chromebook's lower wattage USB-C charger (45W or 65W) into my XPS 15. I realized my error when I noticed the absence of the usual white charging light next to the USB-C port on the laptop. I promptly disconnected the Chromebook charger and switched to the proper Dell XPS 9520 charger, which displayed the expected white charging light. While initially unsure if the Chromebook charger was charging my XPS 9520 due to the absence of the white light, I did observe a 'plugged in' indication, though I cannot recall if it showed as actively charging. I disconnected the Chromebook charger within a short timeframe of about 10 seconds. My first query is whether the Chromebook's 45W or 60W charger could effectively charge the XPS 9520; my assumption is unlikely with 45W, possibly with 65W, albeit at a slower rate. However, I did not see any notification of slow charging during that brief 10-second connection. My concern is whether connecting the Chromebook's lower wattage (45W or 60W) USB-C charger to the XPS 9520, even for under 10 seconds, could potentially damage the laptop. My assumption is that such a brief connection would not cause harm, but extended durations might present a risk. I have heard that damage to a laptop can occur if the incorrect voltage is applied. Some advice suggests that only using a charger with a higher wattage than the laptop's standard one, like plugging a 240W or 300W charger into an XPS 9520 (which usually uses a 130W charger), could lead to damage. Ultimately, the concern centers on the potential risk of damage when using underpowered or overpowering chargers with laptops like the XPS 9520.290Views0likes0CommentsWindows Performance Recorder - No active trace profiles recorded
I am currently investigating the slow boot issue on my computer by following this method: I have configured all settings as directed. Upon launching WPR, I encounter the following notification: Appreciative for any guidance on pinpointing the root cause of this problem. Much appreciated.129Views0likes1CommentSending Laptop for Repair
I need to have my son's laptop repaired and I distinctly remember there being a feature in Windows 11 that allowed me to secure the device before sending it in for repairs. Although I had not used it before, I was certain that there was an option like that available. However, now that I need it, I am unable to locate it. I am unsure if it was removed or if I simply imagined it. As a solution, I plan to create an image of the drive and then reinstall Windows. Nonetheless, I am curious about what happened to that option or if my memory is mistaken. Thank you for your assistance.110Views0likes0Comments"Pinning Files to Taskbar Apps for Easy Access"
I am exploring a different challenge that arises from my transition to a Windows 11 machine. While I have successfully pinned files/folders/apps to the taskbar, a new issue has emerged. Specifically, I rely on Open Office to manage our bills through a custom spreadsheet I recreate annually. In Windows 10, I could easily drag a new file over the Open Office app on the taskbar to add it to the pinned list (as shown in the attached image). However, this function no longer works in Windows 11, and the instructions available are focused on adding items directly to the taskbar. This change has resulted in two identical icons on the taskbar, making it challenging to differentiate or change them. I am seeking advice on whether this feature has been deactivated and how to address the duplication issue. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.156Views0likes0Comments
