Re: SharePoint Migration - Unable to Locate SharePoint URL
EntilZha You will need to use the Upload Destinations function in the Migrations tab. This can be tricky. You will need to download a fresh CSV from the tool each time, which doesn't make sense but it's the only way to make it work. Then use PowerShell to run the script that MS provides in documentation. This will populate the CSV with any container that has a missing Destination, and you can fill in the URL there, and then upload that CSV in the Migrations tab. There are many opportunities to get tripped up in this process, so be patient as you work through. Once you get your URL in there once, it tends to pop up in the tool as an available site.Scans and Migrations stuck in Queued state
Scans and migrations have been stuck in the Queued state for over 12 hours (since ~6 PM EST 2 12 2024) 85% of our videos migrated as expected. We pushed almost all User containers at the same time from Scans to the Migrations tab, but not all sent properly. Trying to go back and clean up those that are missing, and scanning their folders just in case, many are stuck in the Queued state. Containers that finished being scanned and were sent to Migrations are stuck in Queued on the Migrations side.Early "Soft" Stream (Classic) shutdown via removal of Microsoft Stream for Office 265 E3 license
If we were to remove the Microsoft Stream for Office 365 E3 license via Entra admin center for most users as a "soft" shutdown of Stream (Classic), would redirects still work? This would allow Stream (Classic) admins to clean up the service before the absolute end date of 4/15/2023. To be clear, we don't want to use the Stream admin center checkbox to shut down Stream (Classic) as shown below.Re: Migration Tool says complete but no videos appear on SharePoint destination
Understood, and that makes sense, but if a collection of videos were marked as viewable by the entire company in Stream (Classic), then I would assume that a folder containing them would be viewable in SP. All good though, as redirect links are working and playing the videos in a standalone window, even though I can't see them on the SP site.Re: Post Stream Classic migration analysis of video usage in a SharePoint site for Orphan videos
Thanks Marc for that info and link. Our current wish is that at some time in the future to delete Orphaned videos that have not been viewed after migration. So a report that we can turn into a script to delete unwatched videos.681Views0likes1CommentMigration Tool says complete but no videos appear on SharePoint destination
Today, no migration resulted in videos actually appearing on the destination SPO sites. Yesterday we had successful migrations. Only difference, yesterday I made sure I was an owner on the SPO sites. Today, since the tool let me select the destination without being an owner on the destination, I didn't add myself as an owner.Post Stream Classic migration analysis of video usage in a SharePoint site for Orphan videos
Will there be analytics per SharePoint site on video views? This would allow us to delete unviewed videos sometime in 2025 after redirect links are severed. We have a very large and complex organization. It's probably easier to migrate Orphan video containers to a generic SharePoint site than to try to parse out and filter videos before migration.767Views0likes3CommentsRe: Stream Classic Migration Approach
Depends on how much your time is worth. If you migrate to OneDrive, there is no cost typically to your company. If you migrate groups to SharePoint, there may be a storage cost, but it might be lower than your time. After you migrate, you could ask your users to delete the videos if they aren't worth keeping.Re: Stream Classic Containers and Permissions
There is a permissions script that you can run using powershell. you would get the videoid of the 175 videos, and use the script to assign ownership to the group. if you don't use powershell, you could ask the owners of the videos to add the videos to the group manually, but they would need to be owners in that group to do so.Re: Has anyone used Microsoft Teams Town Hall for a large event yet?
karen_dredske we also submitted tickets for related issues. Even with Premier support, we never seem to get any straight answers and are caught in an endless loop of requests for logs. It's no fun. I'll let you know if we hear anything useful.3.1KViews2likes1CommentRe: Improve quality of a Teams screen-shared video?
This method works most of the time, with a caveat: if the end user is not logged into the company VPN, they can join the Teams meeting, but the content in the PPT will not be seen. It is blocked since they aren't logged into the tenant domain. Even when they are logged in, we see issues with this method occassionally. Looking forward to a better video sharing experience!7.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Improve quality of a Teams screen-shared video?
Share pre-recorded videos using a virtual webcam, so that the video is encoded like the users video camera instead of screen sharing. You can also use PowerPoint Live and embed the video into the PPT. PowerPoint Live works much better than screen sharing from the users desktop. We use NDI to playback video, and use the NDI virtual webcam as the presenters camera.9KViews2likes0Comments
