EVENT ABSTRACT
During this session, we will look at Microsoft’s approach to Zero Trust, as today the new perimeter isn’t defined by the physical location(s) of the organization, it now extends to every access points that hosts, stores, or access corporate resources and services. Zero Trust model assumes breaches and verifies each request is strongly authenticated, authorized within policy constraints and inspected for anomalies before granting access.

EVENT SPEAKER BIOS
Drew Nicholas, Enterprise Security Executive

 

Drew Nicholas is an Enterprise Security Executive in Microsoft's Cybersecurity Solution Group, in which he strives to understand customers' security roadmap, investment, and challenges in order to have Microsoft best enable and support an organization's security initiatives. Before moving into the ESE role, Drew was part of Microsoft's Detection and Response Team (DART), where he helped organizations remediate and manage the impact of cloud-based attacks, many times resulting from identity compromises. Prior to DART, Drew was a cloud consultant in Microsoft's Consulting Service with experience in both Azure and Office 365 deployments at some of Microsoft's largest customers in the world.

 

Bernie Klinder, Senior Technical Specialist

 

Bernie Klinder is an Identity, Security and Compliance specialist at Microsoft and an IT industry veteran, pursuing his passion for technology across a variety of roles including consulting, project management, technical writing, public speaking, and technical sales. Bernie's technical background includes Azure Active Directory, Identity and Access Management, Systems Management, MDM/MAM, Cloud App Security, Threat Management, Data Protection, Security Management, and Compliance. Bernie has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.), in Management and Leadership from Franklin University and an Executive MBA from Bowling Green State University. He is also a top writer on Quora. His work has been published on Forbes, Newsweek, ComputerWorld, Inc, Observer, Huffington Post, and TechTarget. Prior to his career in technology, Bernie was a Critical Care/Flight Paramedic. He lives in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife Tamara.
