Not supporting the use of M365 groups to assign shares in Universal Print seems like a pretty strange omission, especially considering that I was able to use M365 groups in Intune to deploy the printers to users.

It would also cut down on the amount of duplicate groups required just to assign resources to users, as I am having to do due to this omission.

I agree, o365 groups feels like a half finished project.

You CAN assign shares to M365 groups that are security-enabled (which can only be turned on via PowerShell).

Universal Print supports user groups that are security-enabled in Azure AD.  We have no plans to support user groups created solely within Office 365.
