In November 2021, we announced the general availability of the Test Base for Microsoft 365 service. We continue to innovate, adding capabilities and improving the user experience based on your feedback. We are happy to report that Test Base users will soon notice a tabbed experience on the portal Overview page, offering four options:

  • Get Started shows guidance and documentation.
  • Metrics shows the number of failed test runs with two bar charts.
  • Failures shows all failed test runs in a table and has a link direct to the Test Result Page.
  • What’s New shows recent Test Base announcements.

The goal of this new Overview experience is to provide you with actionable information whenever you start or continue your Test Base journey. Read on for details, or watch this short video demonstration:

Get Started

If you are new to Test Base or have not uploaded a package yet, you will see the Get Started tab first. This section offers a brief guide on how to use the Test Base service, including building a package, uploading it, and viewing test results. You can also find useful links here for each step and start your journey with Test Base.

Metrics

If you have already uploaded one or more packages, you will see the Metrics tab first when you visit the Overview page. The Metrics tab provides you with a numeric breakdown of your failed runs and two bar charts, one showing the top five packages with the most failures and the other showing the same information by OS version. These diagrams can help you quickly determine which packages and OS versions you should pay attention to first.

Failures

The Failures tab lists failed test runs on the latest OS update. This is a more convenient way to find test results you are interested in. You can also click on the Test Run Time for more detailed information about the test.
