"Too many clicks" again - avatar menu notifications

This network requires too many clicks to work in it, that was articulated in quite many posts. With improved avatar menu (which is good since it becomes much more compact) 

extra clicks are added to check if you have the notification or not (especially if you expect some feedback) - small red circle with notifications number dissapeared from avatar, even if you have them

Looks like this idea pre-dates the addition of the notification bell and messages status indicator in the top right. I hope we didn't wear out your mouse with the extra clicks!
