Link to MTC emails has gone

Silver Contributor

Hi

I noticed that I lost access to my MTC emails. It used to be linked behind my avatar on the top right of the page. But the link has gone.

@Detlef Lewin Do you need to gain access in this way?

@A1

When I click on my avatar I see this.

And if I remember correctly there used to be the link to the private messages.

@A1

I don't mean the forum notifications.

@Detlef Lewin

I'm fine, but it's weird

@Detlef Lewin

Everything will be fine - you need to enable private messaging in your profile settings:)

@A1

It is turned on.

I use Chrome. And I checked with Edge and Firefox. All the same.

@Detlef Lewin

Now I wanted to send you a private message - unfortunately this is not possible.

@A1

Now it is back.

And it is an unread Message from thursday.

@Detlef Lewin

Try sending me a private message - we'll check if I'm okay?

@A1

It disappeared again,

What is happening???

@Detlef Lewin

I believe your computer may be infected - what kind of antivirus do you have?

@A1

I use Avira Free Security.

@Detlef Lewin

Have you deleted your browsers' cookies and cache?

Do you have a profile in Edge logged in?

@A1

I looked at the source text. The link is there in line 974 but does not show up.

                            <div class="notification-list">
                                    <div class='no-notifications'>No unread messages.</div>
                                <div class="see-all-notifications"><a href="/t5/notes/privatenotespage">See All Messages</a></div>
                            </div>

@Detlef Lewin

Is Windows10?

Do you download app updates from the Microsoft Store?

Microsoft Safety Scanner Download | Microsoft Learn

@A1

It is Windows 10.

I'm sure I did not download app updates from Microsoft store.

I made a workaround.

I bookmarked the link in Chrome.

@Detlef Lewin

I'm avoiding such solutions because you still can't properly sync this computer and load the cache of this website.

19045.4123 - this is the build number you should have if you are updating Windows correctly.

Not keeping Microsoft Store apps up to date is bad practice. What do you think?
