Introducing a more powerful code syntax highlighter to let you show off your code in all its glory.

As we continue to listen to user feedback one of the areas you have asked us to enhance is the code syntax highlighter, because it only supported web technologies and Python.

From today we have launched new more power code syntax highlighter that supports the following languages:

  • AppleScript
  • Bash + Shell
  • Basic
  • C
  • C#
  • C++
  • CSS
  • Excel Formula
  • F#
  • Git
  • HTML
  • Java
  • JavaScript
  • JSON
  • Markdown
  • Objective-C
  • PHP
  • Power Query
  • PowerShell
  • Python
  • Regex
  • Ruby
  • SQL
  • VB.Net
  • Visual Basic
  • YAML

This will allow you to share your code snippets, with all the usual syntax highlighting you get when coding in these languages in an IDE such as Microsoft Visual Studio.

If there are languages you feel should be on this list, then please do submit them to the Community Ideas board for consideration in a future update.

As we continue our journey to accessibility compliance, we have also fixed a whole load of keyboard navigation traps, items that screen readers either could not see or they were announced wrong. This work is ongoing, and I will post when it is completed.

Hi @Allen ,

That's great, but there these new languages are? I tried to test within this comment editor, and see the same old set

And after editor toolbar becomes as

without any way to return it back, only to re-open entire blog.

@Allen , at other places updated editor works fine, it looks the issue is only with comments to blogs.
