Teams Powershell Module: [Get|Set|New|Sync]-CsOnlineApplicationInstance and App-Based authentication

Copper Contributor

Hello there,

as stated in the documentation:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-powershell-application-authentication
it is not possible to create a new teams application using New-CsOnlineApplicationInstance, if application based authentication is used for the PS Module.

Is this planed and/or on the roadmap to implement this? We would desperately need this.

Thanks in advance!

Engineering team is working to make this feature available. But we do not have any timeline/ETA to share.
Hello, do you have any updates on this issue? Is there now a roadmap or timeline?
Thank you in advance.
Hello, when is this feature comming? Still no update/ETA? Really? We want to automate this process for our users, so they can order call queues and these orders can be process automatically by a application. this is essential for such a process, i dont understand, why this is not supported.
Unfortunately, we do not have any updates to share. We are following up with engineering team for updates. We will keep you posted.

@Meghana-MSFT Would be great before October 15th 2024, when all admin accounts need to have MFA enabled. A move to application based auth is currently not possible for workloads that utilize Get-CsOnlineApplicationInstance. Ty!
