Hello all,

We want to move our SCORCH 2012 R2 from Windows 2008 Server to a Windows 2016 Server environment and wondering if that has been done without issues. Thanks in advance.

Hello @LaszloPop1,

Unfortunately none of the System Center 2012 R2 products are supported on Windows Server 2016, that includes Orchestrator as well.

You'll find the information here: Server Operating System Requirements for System Center 2012 R2

Are you going to move the Orchestrator database, or just simply the Runbook servers or Management server?

The migration process is pretty straight forward, what you should be concerned about is the Orchestrator database, as that's where ALL your data is located.

Make sure you have working backups of the Orchestrator database prior to the migration, I would also recommend to export your runbooks, this works as backups as well.

You can actually find an official documentation from Microsoft on how to migrate Orchestrator between environment: Migrate Orchestrator between environments

I suggest you read through and follow the documentation, the steps are the same in Orchestrator 2012 R2.

If you have any other concerns, feel free to ask.

Best regards,
Leon
