Two items regarding the Gateway Server

In the past week I have received two queries from customers that I want to share.

The first is that when you use the Gateway Approval Tool, it will attempt to write data to the Operations Manager database. Ensure that the account you log in with to use the Gateway Approval Tool has write rights to the Operations Manager database. For example, run the Gateway Approval Tool with the same credentials that you specified for the SDK and Config account.

The second query is from a customer asking about deploying agents to a computer in another domain. This customer has the Root Management Server in domain A and the Gateway Server in domain B. His concern is that when he commanded the Root Management Server to deploy the agents, there would be considerable traffic between the Root Management Server and the Gateway Server. In this situation, only the command to deploy the agents is sent from the Root Management Server to the Gateway Server. The Gateway Server then does the actual agent deployment and therefore, there is no hit on the link between the Root Management Server and the Gateway Server.
