Event Overview

Windows PowerShell is likely to become the automation tool of choice. In this webcast, we provide examples of Windows PowerShell being used to perform common administration tasks in Hyper-V and Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager. We compare the two automation methods in detail, and we discuss some online community-focused PowerShell resources such as http://powershellcommunity.org .


Presenters: Marco Shaw, Microsoft MVP, Independent;  Darin Pendergraft, PowerGUI Product Manager, Quest Software;  and Peter Zerger, Consulting Partner, AKOS Technology Services, Inc.

Marco Shaw has been working in the IT industry for more than 10 years. Marco runs the Virtual PowerShell User Group, and he is one of the community directors of the PowerShell Community site at http://powershellcommunity.org . Marco recently received the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award for the second year in a row for his contributions to the Windows PowerShell community.

Darin Pendergraft is the product manager for PowerGUI, and he has been at Quest Software for more than 10 years. Darin is responsible for product strategy and direction, and he works closely with both development and marketing resources to make sure PowerGUI is a success. While at Quest, Darin has also worked in technical support and marketing.

Pete Zerger is a consultant, speaker, and author who focuses on operations management, virtualization, and directory services. He is a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and founder of http://www.systemcenterforum.org , a popular community site covering the Microsoft System Center Suite.
