The SMLets CodePlex project has produced another release – Beta 4.  This new release was essentially all done by Jim Truher, so thanks to him very much for his work on this.  SMLets has come a long way since its humble beginnings with Get-SCSMIncident.  : )

The major new improvements for this release are:

  • Compiled against the RTM version of the SCSM 2012 SDK binaries
  • There is now four different installer packages for use in different situations – 2012 x64/x86 and 2010 x64/x86.  This will enable using SMLets in Orchestrator since Orchestrator is a x86 only process.  There have been some new cmdlets that have been added that are only useful against the SCSM 2012 SDK.  That is the reason for creating separate 2010 and 2012 installers.
  • The installer will now install into C:Program FilesCommon FilesSMLets instead of $PSHome

Some of the new cmdlets that have been added allow you to manipulate the service catalog in 2012:

  • Add-SCSMRequestOffering
  • Get-SCSMRequestOffering
  • Get-SCSMRequestOfferingQuestion
  • Get-SCSMServiceOffering
  • New-SCSMRequestOffering
  • New-SCSMRequestOfferingQuestion
  • New-SCSMServiceOffering
  • Remove-SCSMRequestOffering
  • Remove-SCSMServiceOffering

Upgrade instructions from SMLets Beta 3:

  1. Uninstall beta 3 from Add/Remove Programs
  2. Install SMLets Beta 4.
