They have been working for a few months now on an end user facing self-service portal built on top of Service Manager called ‘Accelerator’. It’s really more than a self-service portal though because it also provides some automated activities for automating routine service request fulfillment. In this example below you can see how an end user can request a new file share, provide the security restrictions, etc. and then once it is approved, the workflow platform in Service Manager automatically creates the folder/file share and secures it according to the user’s request. This solution is completely integrated into Service Manager and uses all of the out of box workflows and processes around Change Management, the workflow platform in Service Manager, and the SDK. The complete solution also includes some features that fill some gaps in the out of box feature set in Service Manager. The complete feature list can be found
Many of the blog posts that you see here on the Service Manager Engineering Team Blog are actually either a collaboration between me and these guys, guest posts from them or blog posts that I have done for them to show them how to do something related to the Accelerator.
Nice work guys and thanks for all the help you have provided to others in the community to help them get going as well!
