Hi Justin - looks like you're right; this doesn't work at the moment. Sorry about that. I tried copying the visual link and the direct link to the sway, and Teams didn't show a visual for either of those.
I'll check up with people here and see if we can either log a bug or let the Teams people know about the issue.
Thanks for letting us know!

Hi Justin - sorry, this took a little while to chase up.
The situation here is that copying and pasting the link into Teams (chat or channel) will display the preview if the sway is accessible by "anyone with the link", but if it's set to "Those in your organization with the link", the preview won't show up. This is because the link preview functionality in Teams doesn't currently handle the authorization required to show locked-down links within the same tenant. (Imagine a web process that loads a link in a private web window without any cookies - it doesn't have access)
This is something we and the Teams group would like it to do, but it's not something they're building right away, because it'll take a little while. Hopefully it's not too far away though.
In the meantime: if you want, you could get a preview to show by temporarily setting your sway to "Anyone with the link", posting the link in Teams, and then setting the sharing back to what it was before. It's not very convenient right now, but it should do the job.
