I use Sways to organise our SharePoint sites, it's quick, creates a unified feel and it also stops people treating SharePoint sites like shared drives.

It works well save for one (fairly central) issue: some of the links do not work in internet explorer 11.

The links are correctly formatted, it doesn't do anything, no error message, no whirring...nothing. You can see the correct address if you hover over. They also DO work in Chrome (irony not lost) or if clicked on directly from the sway i.e. not from the embedded sway, from IE and Chrome.

Other links work fine in both IEand Chrome, it does seem to be external links predominantly but nothing in the IE settings would indicate these should be blocked? I have also run IE with no add ons, it still doesn't work, nor do they work in edge.
...so it must be something to do with the action of embedding?

The sway can be viewed by anyone with the link as it's only published on our secured intranet and means people aren't asked to log in repeatedly.

Any ideas?! we are completely stumped.
