Today, we are sharing an update on the roll out status of the Windows 10 Team 2020 Update, following our previous update in January.

Throughout January, we listened to and worked closely with customers to resolve some of the issues reported on the known issues list, which will now be offered to customers updating to Windows 10 Team 2020.

Surface Hub 2S
Today, we are making the Windows 10 Team 2020 Update available for Germany and the Netherlands via Windows Update. The update will become available worldwide via Windows Update on March 2, 2021, completing the update offering for Surface Hub 2S devices anywhere on the planet.

The Windows 10 Team 2020 Update is also offered via Windows Update for Business, and we now offer an updated Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) image on the Surface Recovery Image webpage.

Surface Hub (first-generation)
We remain committed to starting Windows 10 Team 2020 Update rollout in late February as communicated in the previous update. More details will be provided closer to the release date.

Support for Microsoft Edge Legacy
Following the Microsoft Edge team’s announcement on Friday, February 5, 2021, about the end of support for Microsoft Edge Legacy on March 9, 2021, we encourage customers to install the new Microsoft Edge browser on all Surface Hub and Surface Hub 2S devices running the Windows 10 Team 2020 Update. The Microsoft Edge Legacy browser will remain the default browser on Surface Hubs until its replacement in a future update later this year.

As mentioned earlier, Windows 10 Team, version 1703 will remain supported through March 16, 2021. Please make sure to read the known issues list before updating your devices to Windows 10 Team 2020.

The update for the 2S will be available on March 2 and we have 14 days to roll it out to all our devices to remain in a 'supported state' ?       Nice.....  and even better when some issues have 'no remedy, do not install the update'.
The customers have to go fast, I would like Microsoft to do the same when resolving issues; for more than 4 months the monitoring of SH in Log Analytics is broken and the only answer we get weekly from MS is 'I don`t have any updates on this, this is jut to keep you up to date.'

Just to be sure, when you say the update will be available through Windows Update, so it means we will be able to distribute it through WSUS ?

Hello @Yoav Barzilay , thanks for sharing this. We are trying to deploy the Windows 10  Team 2020 OS to all our surface hub globally. However we cannot find any instruction documentation on how to do this, please could you share any information to do this via Windows Updates or Windows update for business? FYI we do have all of them Intune enrolled working with configuration policies.

Thanks in advance

Why is nobody answering?

Is this update available now for all Surface Hub models via WSUS or not?

Has anyone successfully upgraded a Surface Hub V1 and 2S via their on premises WSUS?

Iron Contributor

@Kalimanne J

No the update is not available through WSUS, you need to switch to WUfB.

We have 'successfully' updated a few 2S but we had to stop the rollout because of problems (teams not working correctly etc....)

@Marc Vanderhaegen

Are there any fixes for the Teams issues?

Is the update being withheld from WSUS for a specific reason and also documented anywhere?

Iron Contributor

We use WSUS.  So, once we apply the update, will the future updates for Windows Teams 2020 come through WSUS or would we have to permanently use WUfB from now on meaning update management from WSUS is now over?

Iron Contributor

It is documented here : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/surface-hub/surface-hub-2020-update

You have to use Windows Update, WUfB or bare metal restore.

No idea if you can continue to use WSUS but as it is not supported for the some updates we are going to stay with WUfB and see how it goes.

@Marc Vanderhaegen

What types of Teams issues are you seeing and are there any fixes for those issues?
