Just got our Hub 2S at the Florida Mall store. Generally really impressed by what it can do. One thing though that a lot of other EDXs like me have noticed we should seriously consider updating to improve our Bus/Edu sales opportunities. Specifically, opening a PDF document in the Edge browser does NOT currently support inking at all. The only viable work around seems to be via the "Add PDF" option to whiteboard which does seem to support collaborative inking and can be saved for example One Drive but ONLY in IMAGE format not PDF. Even with the workaround, the inked white board image in hub can't be selected and cropped before saving, i.e., the save feature from the Hub 2S white board literally saves the entire white board contents including all the surrounding white space which seems weird since screen clipping is supported everywhere else in the Hub 2S. You could obviously reopen the white board image after saving in a basic photo editor and crop it then resave it or even select the white board image copy and paste it into Word or some other document. But neither of those is a simple business friendly option. Assuming it's technically feasible, the Surface Hub 2S should be updated to a) allow ink to PDF within the Edge browser; b) ideally allow a PDF document to be resaved to PDF or printed as a Word PDF (not just an image format) and c) White board should allow image clipping so the extraneous white border can be deleted prior to saving from it. Other than Word itself, PDF is probably the single most used business document platform there is. So, the sales implications for making these changes as expeditiously as possible are obvious.
