stuck on "Something went wrong, please contact your support person" error on Welcome screen.

One of our Surface Hub 2S shows the error "Something went wrong, please contact your support person" on the Welcome screen.

The Microsoft Support tells us to reinstall the Surface Hub 2S and to uninstall the Surface app from: Settings -> Surface Hub -> Apps & Features. (The support Call is still open) 
This is frustrating.

Is there no way to remove the Surface App from the system other than reinstalling the entire system (Intune management, Azure AD integration, assigning policies, Exchange Online policies etc.)? 
e.g. a boot stick like Windows DaRT ?

No answer from support and also no reaction here. So I will now unfortunately perform a restore.
