MS Hub 2s unable to join to ADS

I have four new Hubs and they all get the same error message "We tried to join the domain using the name you provided earlier, but another domain joined device is using the same name...."

We checked the AD environment and no other device has that name, we provided a different name only to get the same message again. 

After doing a fresh reset, the OS was reinstalled, took a couple of hours, I tried joining to the domain and I'm still stuck with the same error message... what is going on????
