Storage team is bringing 8 sessions and 2 Hands-on Lab to Microsoft TechED IT Pro 2008!

Karandeep Anand, Jason Buffington, Ram Kailasanathan, Drew McDaniel and Edwin Yuen will be hosting the sessions from the Storage side. Clustering and High availability will also be there to talk about their biggest release to date – Clustering features in Windows Server 2008 .

Tech Ed will take place between June 9 and 13, and will bring two separated editions for Developers and IT Pros, with 19 different Technical Tracks and 154 interactive theaters.

Between the new capabilities in Windows Server 2008 and the storage-centric enhancements in the Windows Storage Server family of products, Windows is a very powerful storage platform.  In this session, we discuss some of the key customer needs that are addressed by Windows Storage solutions, and prescribe best practices as well as discuss features that you may not be aware of.

MGT50-TLC - DPM 2007 Bare Metal Recovery – chalktalk

In this interactive session, we discuss one of the newest features in Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2007— bare metal recovery—using the DPM 2007 System Recovery Tool (SRT). SRT is an additional utility that is included with DPM 2007 for the purposes of restoring a product server’s operating system and application volumes, before restoring the data with DPM 2007. SRT includes powerful single-instance storage for de-duplication of common binaries and component files, and an easy restore mechanism using a bootable CD. We also have experts on hand to discuss other advanced functions within DPM 2007 including PowerShell control and scripting within the data protection system. Let’s talk about what else DPM 2007 can do, above and beyond continuous data protection for Windows application and file servers.
