What you say SQL Server is capable to handle Ransomware attack? Are we all set on certain circumstances

Please share your thoughts on SQL Server to handling the Ransomware attack. In my Org, we have attacked by Stop Djvu (third party link removed by moderator) We have restored the DB from backup because backup was fine.

@Robin Shanab , what should SQL Server handle here, it's a RDBMS, not an anti-virus software?

As long as SQL Server do have the database files in access, they can't be encrypted, but backup and application files.

Get an anti-virus software and plan a good backup strategy.

@olafhelper

thanks for your response!

Yes, anti-virus helps a lot here. In my org, we attached by ransomware but, fortunately, we had a backup, so we restored the db from it.

What if the backup is not available or not updated?
