SSRS prompts for credentials from internal connection

Copper Contributor

Hello,

i'm running Report services at a customer - when i connect from external or any other network it works without any issue.

but if i try to connect from this serv to this same link, it prompts again and again for credentials.

Tried to add to trusted zone in IE, set Automatic logon in IE Settings.

Tried to add a dns record, so external ip is rerouted to the internal one, not working - or add cname...

tried to change Authmechanism in rsreportserver.config file - did not change anything

when i connect to internal Servername - works great instant 😞 but it's integrated in a software so links are always same.

any ideas?

@outbreak198x , when SSRS prompts for credentials, then the current user isn's setup correcly in SSRS, see

Grant user access to a report server - SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) | Microsoft Learn

Or they use a browser, which don't pass the current Windows credentials to SSRS, like Firefox.

Then you have to change the settings in the browser.

@olafhelper no, it works great with all users, but just from external link, (also with internal link on onsite network) and it does not matter which browser, same issue on all…

just external link on onsite network not working (also if i point it to internal ip address)
