I was working on a Power View report for our internal business numbers and we are making use of the Export to PowerPoint feature to include them in our slide deck.  If you aren’t familiar with this feature in Power View, when you are in the report, click on “file” and then “Export to PowerPoint”.  This will go through each slide you have in the report and generate a PowerPoint slide for each one.

When you run the presentation within PowerPoint, you should see “click to interact” in the lower right.

One of my colleagues tried opening the PowerPoint and mentioned that he didn’t see the “click to interact”.  He just had what looked like an image snapshot on the slide.

I had him go to the SharePoint site to try it out, and we were prompted to install Silverlight.  Turns out he didn’t have it installed.

After Silverlight was installed, the “click to interact” was available.

Within the slide itself, it uses the Silverlight hosted control (XcpControl2) which points back to the SharePoint Server, so If Silverlight is not installed, it won’t function properly.
