There is no connection with the TechNet platform, no achievements, points etc. from their carry over to the Microsoft Tech Community and vise versa. Saying that, Microsoft has said in a recent update to the community:
"These changes are part of an effort to make the Tech Community a place where you can showcase your expertise on Microsoft technologies and help you make connections to IT Pros across the planet."
So maybe there will be more options in the future to reflect achievements elsewhere. You can also add information to your bio here to provide additional information. Having an option to add a TechNet profile to the Social Media Profiles section here would make a lot of sense.
The Microsoft Tech Community has its own system to recognise achievements and contributions. There are various ranks, for example, all the way up Valued Contributor. MVP are recognised with a green ring around their avatar badge.
