Teams Room "Cannot Fetch Calendar"

Brass Contributor

Good day,

I have just finished setting up our Lenovo ThinkSmart Hub500. Creating the room and users account as per MS instructions is all done and Teams Room is logged in. I can start a new meeting and project but no meetings are showing up. At the top it says "Cannot Fetch Calendar".

What are we doing wrong?

Thanks.

Hi,

Are you running Exchange Online or if you are running Exchange On-Premises are you running a version later that Ex 2013? It could be DNS problems, that your MTR can't connect to autodiscovery for Exchange.

Hello,

We are running exchange online. Do we need to change anything?

Hello @Linus Cansby,

Hi,

That is perfect. Exchange Online is supported. If you are sure that the account is setup correctly (check this guide: https://ucstatus.com/2019/09/09/how-to-create-and-configure-an-account-for-your-microsoft-teams-room...), then I think there is some problem for your devices to connecting to Exchange Online.

You can test connectivity to Exchange Online on this page:
https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/
Run the tests for "Microsoft Exchange Web Services Connectivity Tests". If everything is okay there try to access the URLs that you see in the log from testconnectivty from your MTR device.

@Linus Cansby

Thanks for this.

I had used the instructions from another website and it didnt include the "Disable Modern Auth part.  "Revoke-AzureADUserAllRefreshToken -ObjectId (Get-AzureADUser -SearchString $NewMTR).objectId"

how do i go about changing this now that i have everything setup?

The only error i got on testing was

Checking the IIS configuration for client certificate authentication.
 The test passed with some warnings encountered. Please expand the additional details.

Additional Details

Accept/Require client certificates were found. Set the IIS configuration to Ignore Client Certificates if you aren't using this type of authentication.

Thanks again!

we are running teams rooms from a Lenovo ThinkSmart hub 500 so i cant tell why it cant fetch the calendar.

Thanks.

You should be able to see something in the log files.

How to get the log files:

@Linus Cansby

So i went through the ucstatus link you sent and created a new room and everything. i couldnt run the "$Registrar = (Get-CsOnlineUser).RegistrarPool | select -First 1
Enable-CsMeetingRoom -Identity $MTRUpn -SipAddressType “EmailAddress” -RegistrarPool $Registrar" as it kept saying get-csonlineuser is not a recognized as the name of a cmdlet.

the meeting room is able to login but not fetch calendar still.

@Linus Cansby

Thanks for this. I tried to send logs but says it was unable to send logs. please contact you admin

Just for testing try to sign in with your own account, instead of the room account.

@Linus Cansby

I turned off MFA and logged in with my account and got the same error. What do you suggest? Thanks

@bjones96

In this article you have a powershell cmd to collect logs, those logs might indicate why you cant connect.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/room-systems/room-systems-v2-operations

powershell -ExecutionPolicy unrestricted c:\rigel\x64\scripts\provisioning\ScriptLaunch.ps1 CollectSrsV2Logs.ps1

@Linus Cansby

thanks for this. I have attahced the log file. What do i look for?

No, nothing interesting in that file.

You could try to change SIP address, username and e-mail address to you onmicrosoft.com domain. Ex. room@domain.onmicrosoft.com and try to sign in. You will then see if it is a DNS error.

@Linus Cansby

I tried that but same thing. in azure the user is not part of the onmicrosoft.com resource. i changed the username to the onmicrosoft one and made no difference so have switched back to the normal domain.

whats next? BTW really appreciate your help here.

Thanks. Bryn

@Linus Cansby

Ive uploaded the log after changing the login around a bit and back again. can you comment.

Check if Basic Authentication is blocked in Exchange.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online/disable-basic-authen...
https://pdhewaju.com.np/2018/10/31/enabling-basic-authentication-on-exchange-online/

Check if you are using proxy that you have to configure this device with.

@Linus Cansby I ran the following

Set-User -Identity mmboardroom@frsgrp.com -AuthenticationPolicy $null

and got "The command completed successfully but no settings of 'MM Boardroom' have been modified."

what am i doing wrong?

@Linus Cansby

Ive been playing around with this all day and no luck...any more ideas?
