Skype For Business HYBRID - Conferencing not working

Iron Contributor

Hello,

1. I have followed the following article step by step till the end
https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/canitpro/2015/12/23/step-by-step-skype-for-business-2015-hybrid-...

2. I am able to migrate the users from on-premises to online environment successfully

3. When an on-premises user organizes a meeting which includes audio, video or desktop-application sharing all works fine with an online user as a participant able to see

4. However the vice-versa is not working except the IM Conferencing which is working fine

5. Checking tracing logs using snooper and at the same time capturing network traces show

"Call failed to establish due to a media connectivity failure when both endpoints are internal" ICEWarn=0x41003a0,ICEWarnEx=0x0

6. Noticed in the Network traces is an internal client or say an on-premises user who is trying to participate in the meeting hosted by an online user, Skype client on-premise's user's machine is trying to contact the on-premises Skype Edge server for TURN:STUN and then the public IP for av.sipdomain.com is given to the internal client is this the right behavior ?

Okay just checked read and found that indeed it is a standard process to build the candidates as in the routes a client can be reached.. that's why the on premises client contacts the on premises edge in DMZ and shares this info with the other participant

so here is the summary of whats working and what not

Environment

We have SFB Server 2015 on-premises and SFB 2016 Clients

External DNS name resoution is not allowed from Clients and FE's

SFB DMZ Edge server can resolve external names

All Clients access all external URL's via Proxy

1. Peer to Peer Audio,Video, Desktop/Application Sharing all is working

2. When On-Premises users organizes the meeting everything works as well

3.  Its when an migrated/online user initiates a meeting (or a scheduled meeting by online user for that matter) on-premises users are able join meeting but are able to exchange IM's only,

4. when an online users start desktop-application sharing on-premises users are not able to see anything instead they keep seeing an error message due to network issues

5. I am thinking there is an issue with the Ports between Online Server to our on-premises DMZ SFB  Edge servers

6. All Modalities in Conferencing work fine between two or more online/migrated users

Please confirm the following two statements are correct or not

1. All on-premises Clients must be able to connect to on-premises DMZ hosted SFB EDGE servers on 443,3478,3479.3480,3481

1.1 Above Ports must be open from both directions correct

2.1 SFB Online Server must be able to communicate with on-premises DMZ hosted SFB EDGE servers on 443,3478,3479.3480,3481

2.1 Above Ports must be open from both directions correct
