Questions on cache refreshment replication timing when changing the federation edge

Hi Experts,

One of our partner raised the below query:

In the case of changing the federation edge, we usually say it can take up to 24 hours, for the federation partner to refresh the cache, so it will pick up the new Federation edge FQDN and establish a connection. But in this case, instead of failing over an edge pool we're trying to move the Edge function to another edge pool. After we enabled federation on the new Edge, we can use deployment wizard to update the edge, and change the Federation DNS record. The expectation is that the new edge will accept any new connection. But for old federation partner, they will still have the old DNS record in the cache and try to connect to the old federation edge, which is still in perfect working order. In this case, will the federation traffic keep working?

The situation here is that we have a SFBO Hybrid, we really don’t want the create two islands of SFB while we are switching federation Edge. Did anyone test the scenario before?

Any pointers would be of great help.

Many thanks in advance.
