When configuring the cumulative update for Lync Server 2010: November 2011 for Mobility on Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 1, you must perform additional steps to configure IIS 7.0 ASP.NET settings. The Lync Server 2010 deployment documentation for Mobility in the
Lync Server 2010 Technical library

The steps are as follows:
Install a hotfix that allows you to configure the CLRConfigFile parameter in the applicationHost.config file.
Install the Mobility Service.
Modify some ASP.NET settings in the applicationHost.config file.
When configuring the cumulative update for Lync Server 2010: November 2011 for Mobility on Windows Server 2008 R2, you do not need to perform these additional steps to configure IIS 7.5 ASP.NET settings. The Mobility installer automatically configures the ASP.NET settings for you.
