Why ReactJS is required in SPFX webpart? can`t we use No Java Script Framework instead ?

Can we use no javascript framework right ? instead of React JS?

When the No Javascript is failed to select React JS?

When/what purpose do we need or have to use react js for the spfx webpart ?
