Where is the "Save Site as Template" option in Modern?

Brass Contributor

Hi all,

I've created two 'public' SharePoint sites, one named "External" and the other named "Internal," to be used as templates for future SharePoint sites we create. We've got the two sites how we'd like them with the proper Document Libraries and subfolders, as well as homepage web parts, but I am not seeing the "Save as Template" option in Site Settings as per this Microsoft article: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/general-development/save-download-and-upload-a-shar...

Not seeing the Site Actions > Save Site as a template option here:

Thank you in advance,

Hi,

You should not use the "Save as template" feature anymore in SPO. The way to go is through PnP Site Templates / Site Scrips (Called now Site Templates)
