Visitor Permissions on a library

Hello,

I am trying to have a group on a specific Document library, a visitor groups.

But I wonder:

Does this group have to be linked also to the subsite above , and the site above all?

I mean:

Site

     SubSite

            Document Library ( VisitorsCustomGroup )

The idea is that that group can only view the documents within that library.

Hi @LuisO,

no you can break the permissions. Just navigate to the library settings and choose "Permissions for this document library" --> "Stop inheriting Permissions

Now you can choose your own rights management for just this library

Thanks a lot. I knew about Stopping inherited Permissions but I thought the user couldn't get through the subsite to reach only that library withour permissions on the subsite. Thanks!
