Video Quality

Copper Contributor

I am using SharePoint Modern Online.

I uploaded 1080p videos into a SharePoint library.  In a site page, I used the File Viewer web part to display them.  The videos would only display up to 480p.  Then I tried the YouTube and Stream web parts, which showed the videos at 1080p.  Then, my original videos in the File Viewer web parts displayed at 1080p as well (and the gear icon is no longer available).  Although, I still have one original video in the File Viewer web part that still displays at 480p.  Four questions: 1. How did the original videos change from 480p to 1080p? 2. Why is one of the original videos still displaying at 480p? 3. How can you control the video quality? 4. Why is the gear icon not available for the original videos that changed from 480p to 1080p?

I appreciate any help or feedback!

I have exactly same question here, please if someone can help us

@ScottAsplund  Same problem here :(
If anyone can help ????

@ScottAsplund and @GeraudV I saw that preview always shows 480p to videos that exceed 1gb size, if you click on copy url and open it in browser it shows 1080p

It's like a workaraund to it but I couldn't identify why preview not shows 1080p videos

I think this is a thing related to Sharepoint Preview.
