Users seeing different document version

Iron Contributor

Hi,

I have two users who regularly access an excel spreadsheet in the browser, usually at the same time. They have noticed that they often see different versions of the spreadsheet, for example user1 sees the version that he edited the previous day and user2 sees a version where those edits are not showing.

We have a workaround in place where they can check through the version history and restore the version that needs to be in place. Also, the correct version apppeared for both users after about 24 hours without any action being taken.

Has anyone experienced the same issues?

Hi,
Have you checked the Checkout and Checkin DateTime? If user 1 has been modifying the document and didn't check in the change, the other users will still see the old published version of the document.

@Sudharsan K  Hi - Shouldn't the document automatically check in when the user has finished? It's in the browser version of Excel and automatically saves each change.

@Kotus-Tech

The document will be saved automatically within a few seconds and check-in has to be done by the user manually to make sure they are ready to publish the document to the other users.

Hope it helps, please like it or mark it as a solution if it resolves ur clarification or issue

Is that the normal behaviour? A manual check-in step has never been the process in my experience. The document in question does not have a checked out version.
